Disappearing mountain

A view from the parking lot of "Buropolis" north-eastwards. The sky was very covered, and when I stopped the drawing, the mountain in the background had completely disappeared.

Free concert

Normally I wouldn't post such quick sketches, but I like this strange scene. For its inauguration, the new conservatory in Nice invited the public for free concerts this weekend. This one was so crowded that we were sitting on the floor, one step away from the orchestra, while other people found some higher places behind a fence.

In the background it's a thick white cloud that was creeping through the mountains.

Picasso's Man with a Sheep

I went to Vallauris today because I wanted to draw a human sculpture, and this one is about the only one I know in the region.
Anyway I always liked returning to Vallauris from time to time.

This is a view from the north-eastern side of Garbejaïre on the "Route des Dolines". According to a map, the building in the background must be a dormitory, but to me it looks different.

Two weeks ago, friends moved into a beautiful appartment from where they have a perfect view on the "avenue des Baumettes". This is just the left side of the whole view. Maybe I'll draw some other parts next time we are invited.

Public place #1

This place in Nice is called "Jardin Jacques Imbert".
Before posting this drawing, I tried to find out who Jacques Imbert was, and most of the articles on the web talk about a famous gangster from Marseille, who had been arrested only in 2004 at age 74. It would be more than strange if the city of Nice honored a person like that by naming a place after him... more probably, they meant the poet and later "Inspecteur général de l'enseignement artistique" (General inspector of artistic teachings) of the same name. But who knows?

This was at the crossing Avenue Thiers/Boulevard Gambetta in Nice, this afternoon.
When I stood up, the wind blew away the card and several cars rolled over it, so there are some tire traces on it - but fortunately only on the back.
