Der grosse Kreis markiert die Untertasse, in der sich der Schatten ursprünglich befand ... für die Zeichnung musste ich diese dann ja gegen mein Moleskine austauschen.

Un café à la maison, hier après le déjeuner.
Le grand cercle marque la soucoupe, dans laquelle l'ombre se trouvait au début, mais pour le dessin j'ai dû la remplacer par mon moleskine.

A cup of coffee at home yesterday after lunch - the big circle marks the saucer, which originally contained the shadow, but for the drawing I had do swap it against the sketchbook.

That may have got something to do with the haptic qualities of the Moleskine? Its white is never "nothing", you always try to give it a name - ?
